Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Achievabee (“we”, “us”), and they cover your use of Achievabee: the website, the parent app, and the kid app. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not, please do not use Achievabee.

How we handle your family’s information is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Who can use Achievabee

You must be at least 18 and the parent or legal guardian of the children you add, or an adult that parent has invited to help. By adding a child you confirm you have the authority to consent, on their behalf, to what the privacy policy describes.

Children do not hold accounts with us. A child’s profile belongs to your household, is created by you, and is controlled by you.

Your household

You are responsible for what happens in your household: keeping your sign-in details to yourself, choosing who you invite as a co-parent, and the chores, rewards and points you set. A co-parent you invite can see and change the same things you can, including your children’s profiles. Invite carefully.

Points are not money

Points in Achievabee are pretend. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, cannot be transferred between households, and are not stored value, credit, or a payment instrument of any kind. They exist only inside your family’s hive and only mean what you decide they mean.

Rewards are an arrangement between you and your child. We do not supply, fund, deliver or guarantee any reward. If you promise a trip to the skate park, that is between the two of you.

If you delete your account, or we close it, points disappear with it. Nothing is owed for them.

What you create

The chores, rewards, names and photos in your household are yours. We do not claim ownership of them. You give us only the permission we need to store them and show them back to your household, and nothing more. We do not use them for advertising or to train machine-learning models.

You are responsible for what your household puts into the app, including photos. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to, and do not use Achievabee to store anything that would be unlawful.

Using it properly

Please do not:

• Add a child you are not the parent or guardian of.
• Try to reach another family’s data, or probe the service for weaknesses.
• Automate, scrape, or resell the service.
• Use Achievabee to harass, frighten or punish a child.
• Interfere with the service or the people who use it.

Plans and payment

The free plan covers one child and two adults, and it does not expire. The Family plan raises that to six children and unlimited adults and is paid monthly. New households start with a 14-day free trial of Family, which needs no card and ends by itself. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, and we will tell you before any price change affects you.

A subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep Family until the end of the period you have paid for. When it ends, nothing is deleted. Your household simply returns to the free plan’s limits.

Where we offer a one-off lifetime purchase, it covers the household that bought it, for as long as Achievabee runs as a service. It is not transferable to another household.

Refunds

Bought on our website. We do not refund the remainder of a month you have already paid for, but we would rather sort out a genuine problem than argue about it. Email support@achievabee.com.

Bought inside the iPhone app. Apple takes that payment and Apple handles refunds under their terms. We cannot issue one, and cannot see your card. Request it through Apple.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. It takes effect immediately and is not reversible: your household, every child in it, their chores, points, badges and photos are erased. Download your data first if you want a copy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to. Except where something is seriously wrong, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

The service will change

Achievabee is actively developed. Features will be added, altered and sometimes removed. We will not make a change that materially reduces a paid plan without telling you first, and if we ever discontinue the service we will give reasonable notice and time to export your data.

What we do not promise

We work hard to keep Achievabee running and correct, but we provide it “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will make your children do their chores. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Achievabee is a chore chart, not a safety product. Do not rely on it for anything that matters to someone’s wellbeing.

Some places do not allow these exclusions, and where that is so, they do not apply to you.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, or fifty US dollars.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

If you bought through the App Store

These terms apply to your use of Achievabee obtained from Apple’s App Store, with the following. Apple requires us to say them, and they are accurate.

• This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Achievabee or its content.
• Apple grants you a non-transferable licence to use Achievabee on any Apple device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
• Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for Achievabee.
• If Achievabee fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim you or a third party makes about Achievabee, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar law.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any claim that Achievabee infringes a third party’s intellectual property rights.
• You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and may enforce them against you.
• Questions, complaints and support requests about Achievabee should come to us at support@achievabee.com.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will email you or tell you in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top will change. Carrying on using Achievabee after that means you accept the new terms; if you would rather not, delete your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located there, and we each agree to that. Nothing here stops you bringing a claim in a small-claims court, or removes a consumer right your local law gives you that cannot be waived.

Odds and ends

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours if Achievabee is sold, on the same terms. Together with the privacy policy, this is the whole agreement between us.
